11 7th, 2006 - November - A Time For Giving Thanks
Author: AdministratorFor our household, like many others, November is busy, busy busy!
In California wine country, the annual wine grape harvest is coming to an end and the summer gardens are just about done. Now is the time for preserving the harvest and preparing for Thanksgiving. If you are fortunate enough to have your own garden, consider preserving some of nature’s bounty in decorative containers to give as Holiday gifts. Nothing says “I care about you” more than beautiful homemade treats!
Thanksgiving is a traditional “family time” in the United States. Unfortunately, not all families can be together on this special day.
Not able to get home for Thanksgiving this year? Let your family know that you are thinking about them! Send a lovely flower arrangement for the dinner table or a box of Harvest Theme mini cookies to share after dinner.
Our family has a wonderful Thanksgiving day tradition… Each person has a beautifully gift wrapped Christmas Ornament waiting in their place at the Thanksgiving Table. When everyone is seated, we go around the table and each person has an opportunity to express what they have been most thankful for in the year. Then they open their ornament. These ornaments are specially picked out for each person and have been known to inspire lots of laughter and a few tears. Over the years, we have built up quite a collection of ornaments for our Christmas Tree and each of them is very special to us!
